2014 Homelessness Marathon

For the 3rd year in a row, CKMS will be taking part in the National Homelessness Radio Marathon. more ->

We will be broadcasting nearly all of this year’s Marathon which runs from 7pm EST on Wednesday February 26th, until 9am on the 27th. This year CKMS will be hosting the relay through the hours of 6-7am, where KW Radio Basic’s host Julian Ichim will have discussion on Youth homelessness and organising alternatives.

The Homelessness Radio Marathon is an annual radio event which broadcasts nationally live from the streets all night, coast to coast to coast, to raise awareness of homelessness in Canadian communities. Now in its twelfth year, this year marks the first time the Homelessness Radio Marathon moves from its original host, CKUT 90.3 FM Montreal. We’re spotlighting the crisis of homelessness in Alberta, and we’re eager to work in solidarity with stations across the country to find solutions to this national problem.
