It's great getting all the email votes and questions! A few have asked for "the history" I think I just mispoke …I just meant the past winners. But CKMS used to do Sonic Boom awards which were similar but that was only for a year or two before the feds removed funding.The one year, 2012, my co-host bestowed upon me "the DJ AdRock award for exceptional DJing." The following year we did a whole gambit of awards including that one. Some awards have less past winners because various dj's suggest an award that fills an overlooked void. These new ones get added every so often based on suggestions and approval by the golden mp3 award committee.Hope that helps! All shows are nominated! If you voted for a show you thought was a classic but it is in its first 3 years then we just adjust the vote. There are rumbling that "classic" should have a requirement of more than 3 years.
