  • Note that (as of 2025) the CRTC still considers CKMS-FM Radio Waterloo a campus radio station, not a community radio station. The Policy Committee has been working for years to correct this, and has received verbal acknowledgement from a CRTC representative.

  • Public Notice CRTC 1999-117
    • An ethnic program is one, in any language, that is specifically directed to any culturally or racially distinct group other than one that is Aboriginal Canadian or from France or the British Isles.
  • Additional condition of licence applicable to CKMS-FM Waterloo, Ontario:
    • Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2023-76
    • The licensee shall devote, in each broadcast week, 15 hours to programming broadcast in third languages. This programming shall target a minimum of eight cultural groups in a minimum of eight languages.
