Wendy Lands and Tim Louis at The Jazz Room Wednesday May 9

Wendy Lands a singer, and writer of intimate gem-like songs that ache with vulnerability and jazzy undertow performs songs from her new CD Mumble and Wladyslaw Szpilman’s classics.
Her special guest is Tim Louis – pianist, singer and songwriter.
Show starts 7:30 pm at The Jazz Room in The Huether Hotel.
Tickets $18 advance available at Encore Records, Wordsworth Books and Lion Brewery Restaurant.

Alex Hundert, himself a target of the G20 police state, joins Waves Through Walls on 100.3 soundFM.ca for an hour of prison radio discussion including a reading of Mandy Hiscocks’ prison blog (http://boardbutnotbroken.tao.ca)

Alex was back in studio for the first time since his june 2010 arrest and subsequent jailing for organising protests to the toronto G20 summit. He was in town as a guest of Waterloo’s Public Interest Research Group (http://wpirg.org) where he facilitated sessions on solidarity with Indigenous sovereignty struggles.
