Larry Larson, president of the Grand River Jazz Society, joins Bob Jonkman to introduce some of the performers for the 16th season of jazz at The Jazz Room. Performers include Dave Wiffen, Anthony D’Alessandro, Quisha Wint, and the Barry Elmes Quintet who will be performing a Sonny Rollins tribute.

40m05s Talking about booking performances in chunks: The season goes from September to the end of June, Larry has booked September to New Years so far. Larry teases us with a special super-star guest on 9 and 10 May 2027, but he can’t announce it yet. The January to March calendar will be announced in November, and there are already a few bookings for April to June. When The Jazz Room started they had to find artists, now artists come to them. There can be four times as many requests than spots available.
