Rob’s Rewind

Today’s music is great, but who doesn’t love some golden oldies???

On Rob’s Rewind, Rob Curwain plays the best of the 60s, 70s and 80s, plus some songs that you may not have heard before.

Features include the Canadian Double-Double (featuring back-to-back Canuck songs) and the Wheel of Years (running through what happened in a given groovy year)

Rob’s Rewind is not currently on the CKMS-FM schedule.

“It’s a Vibe” with Sherice

show logo“It’s a Vibe” with Sherice plays music that you don’t normally hear on the radio in Kitchener. Growing up with a Caribbean background in Ontario, I always wondered why I could never hear my type of music on the radio and now I want to make that a reality. I will be bringing my Caribbean flow, playing Soca, Reggae, Dancehall as well as some R&B and hip hop to offset it. We will be having live discussions, talking about universal law, the law of attraction and anything spiritual or universal. I would also love to use this platform to bring awareness and education surrounding issues such as trauma, abuse and consent to the forefront, teaching our community to share love instead of hate!

“It’s a Vibe” with Sherice is not currently on the CKMS-FM schedule.

Training

Bob Jonkman, Yenny Stronge, and DJ JD in the control room
Bob Jonkman, Yenny Stronge, and DJ JD in the control room
Training is the program during which new DJs learn all about the studio, microphones, mixing board, video console, LibreTime program scheduler, and everything else they need to know to host a radio show.

The show could be full of experimentation, interesting results, odd snippets of conversation, and even some dead air. But the results are polished DJs, who will bring you lots of exciting programming the rest of the week!

Would you like to get training as a radio DJ? All it takes is a Radio Waterloo membership — join up at https://radiowaterloo.ca/join and you could join our Technical Committee to learn more about running a radio station, or our Programming Committee to determine what goes on the schedule, or sign up to start a new show!

Training airs every Sunday from 8:30pm to 10:30pm.

Faith Deficit

show logoFaith Deficit with Josh Bowman is a weekly program that explores individual stories of faith in an increasingly secular world. About Josh

Josh Bowman is a blogger, fundraiser, and comedian who has consulted and worked in Vancouver, Toronto, New York, and now Kitchener-Waterloo. Josh has raised millions of dollars for arts organizations, humanitarian and environmental charities, and universities.

Josh writes for the Huffington Post and the Good Men Project, and has been published online at Forbes.com, 101 Fundraising, People and Chairs, and a variety of other blogs. He was a featured speaker at the Queen’s Media and Journalism Conference (QMJC) and has interviewed Kyle Dunnigan, Ian Edwards, former mayor David Miller, Don Ferguson, Bani Dugal, and more.

Aalaa, Abdullah & Ayla will also sing songs in this Radio Show.
