Radio Waterloo will be at Kiwanis Park in Kitchener on Saturday 12 September 2026 to encourage walkers, riders, rollers, and all participants in the Walk For Parkinson’s event.
Tune in from 10:00am to 1:00pm to listen to the live broadcast. We’ll talk to organizers, participants, spectators, and play some music to keep the walkers going. The Radio Waterloo Astrologer predicts a sunny morning, come join us at Kiwanis Park in Kitchener!
Bob Jonkman, a volunteer with Radio Waterloo, demonstrates the LibreTime radio scheduling and automation software used at the radio station at a presentation to the Kitchener-Waterloo Linux User Group.
HYOS: LibreTime Demonstration at the KW Linux User Group is a Host Your Own Show, Live-To-Air special presentation hosted by Bob Jonkman and KWLUG, and airs on CKMS-FM on Monday 4 May 2026 from 8:00pm to 9:00pm.
The KWLUG meeting takes place in person at the University of Waterloo Davis Centre Library room DC 1568 DC 2585 Map and online at https://webconference.kwlug.org/room/kwlug The meeting starts at 7:00pm with a presentation by Thomas Busch on “Incident Response”, followed by Bob Jonkman on”LibreTime” at 8:00pm. This is a free presentation.

Radio Waterloo is proud to partner with Irish Real Life for the 2026 Irish Real Life Festival. As such, our station will promote the Festival, as well as, be at the Opening Ceremony on the 7th of March, at 12 PM til 1 PM at the Rotunda [main level of City Hall] in Kitchener. We are doing Live To Air from the venue. The Festival runs until the 17th of March, but IRL has events and activities during the whole year. Check out their website for full schedule.

Winterloo is Waterloo’s yearly, free, Winter celebration, visited by thousands and held in Uptown Waterloo. With ice carvers, skating in the Square, entertained by DJ King Kadeem, you can enjoy hot drinks, food trucks, and giant games with your friends and family. The event starts at Noon and runs til 5 pm. Felix Ranchero in the CKMS booth at Winterloo 2024. CKMS will have our booth set up in the Visitor Information Centre, Waterloo.Visitor Information Centre Map with DJ Carmelo of Street Hop starting at Noon. We are featuring DJ Bridge with the Megamix Show from 2pm to 4pm and DJ Felix of Atardecer Ranchero/Dusk on the Ranch at 4pm til closing. DJ King Kadeem in the DJ Dome at Winterloo 2024CKMS relies on volunteers to attend events. We are working on CKMS exposure in the community! Come out and see us and say hello! Dress warmly! Bob Jonkman in the CKMS booth at Winterloo 2024. This event requires snow and cold weather; in case there’s no snow on the 25th of January, the backup date for the event is the 1st of February.

Radio Waterloo had a booth at Winterloo this past Saturday, 17 February 2024. We were supposed to broadcast live from 11:00am to 5:00am, but it was cold! How cold was it? It was so cold that the computer we use to link to the studio froze up! Our wonderful Technical Committee managed to find another computer, which we put inside the DJ Dome so it wouldn’t freeze up too. But that meant we couldn’t use our microphones to chat with the people at Winterloo. Happily, DJ King Kadeem did an excellent job as a radio host, so our Live To Air broadcast was a success!
We are attending Winterloo! This is the second time, as we were there in 2019 as well (super chilly that year). Come out say hello! Winterloo has stuff for the whole family.
*New location. Due to mild weather many of the wintery activities are cancelled. Thereof, Winterloo Lite will take place in Waterloo Public Square. Come find us!

Last weekend on Mano A Mano – Concept Album I featured two of my favourite Canadian Bands! Both have great stories about how I found out about the bands and their albums. I also pulled a last minute audible with this selection. I was going to feature The Wet Secrets album “Rock Fantasies” by at the last minute their track “Maybe we’ll make a plan” played on my Audio Library and I had to listen to that album because it is just as fantastic! We featured the Audio Boffins new album I&II on Mano A Mano while doing our NBA fantasy draft picks. Unfortunately there is talking over the music but it is mainly instrumental. We will eventually put together a proper Concept Album podcast to feature this amazing band but we figured we should add it to the mosaic.
